Your Own Business!
I hope by telling you my Thirty-One story that maybe it will speak to where you are. Because I already have a business that keeps me very busy, I would have never thought even six months ago that God would lead me to start a second business. Some time ago I was doing a study by Donna Partow on the Proverbs 31 woman. She talked about how most women in today's economy need "streams of income"-- in other words, several sources of income in case one stream was to dry up! I began to pray about whether God would have me to have additional streams of income. At the first of this year, my husband and a pastor, JD, spoke about a woman in the Old Testament (2 Kings 4:1-7) who lost her husband and was crying out to the prophet Elisha for help because she was left with debt and the creditors were coming for her sons! Thank goodness in these days they don't come for the children, but they do come to foreclose the house or repossess the car! God did something in my heart during that message. He gave me a desire to want to help teach women that they don't have to end up in a bad place financially--with or without a husband. Elisha asked the woman "what do you have in your house?". It's easy for us to ask God, "If you would just give me more". I think He challenges us in return, "What do you already have in your house?" What are the gifts, talents, and abilities that you have already been blessed with? In today's times it is easier than ever for women to have home businesses to bless their families with additional income. I can tell you from experience, there is definitely more job security when you are the boss! During this time, my sister introduced me to Thirty-One, and I knew this was what God was calling me to do. Not only would I have an additional stream of income, but I would also have an amazing opportunity to share with women, knowing that they would have all the support they would need with Thirty-One to have a successful business.
From the moment I signed up to be an Independent Consultant with Thirty-One, I have been blown away by what I have seen. First of all, it only costs $99 to start your business! (Where else will you ever see someone start a business for less than a hundred bucks!) That included my display kit of more than $300 worth of product and supplies. I also received catalogues, order forms, etc., to get my business up and going. On top of that, as soon as I was finished signing up online, they had a Thirty-One website ready for me! Now that impressed me because I was currently working on a new Paint Puddles' website that had taken me a month to rebuild! They offer a website with any kind of marketing or training materials you could possibly ever need, webinars for training, and regional meetings to meet other Thirty-One consultants. And it just gets better! They even offer incentives to their consultants for trips or laptop computers! (Oooohhhh! A new Mac laptop!)
